Opposition members protested against the introduction of a private member’s Bill on the repeal of The Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991, in the Rajya Sabha on Friday.

What is this act ?
यह 1991 का कानून है जो  देश में सभी पूजा स्थलों की स्थिति को 15 अगस्त, 1947 से स्थिर करने के लिए बनाया गया था ।

आजादी के पहले की इमारतें अपनी मूल स्थिति में ही रहेंगी ।
लेकिन बाबरी मस्जिद-रामजन्मभूमि विवाद को इसके दायरे से बाहर रखने के लिए एक अपवाद बनाया गया था।
