second motor bridge on the India-Nepal

The 110-metre bridge sanctioned by the Centre over the Kali river in Dharchula sub-division of this district will be the second motor bridge on the India-Nepal border in Uttarakhand

Kali River

  • It is also known as Sharda river or Kali Ganga in Uttarakhand.
  • It joins Ghagra river in Uttar Pradesh, which is a tributary of Ganga.
  • River Projects: Tanakpur hydro-electric project, Chameliya hydro-electric project, Sharda Barrage.

 "The two-lane bridge will have a footpath on both sides." The bridge will be built at a cost of ₹46.06 crore
